English Language Challenges

English at university was a complication in my life due to the fact that I had to do it compulsively and the little commitment I had with it. Generally, during my time at school I only studied for tests and did not develop this language anymore. Usually, I was doing well since the level of demand was not as high as it should be. The use of blogs helped me to keep up with the need to be constantly writing, maybe if we had more freedom added to more blogs we could drop the pen a bit more. And maybe in that way I could maintain a good level of English constantly without having to backtrack what I learned at the end of the year. Despite the difficulties I had in English I do not feel that it can be a complication once I continue practising it. I know it’s a matter of hard work but I am certain that when I need to use it I will be able to demonstrate my knowledge. My biggest weakness is speaking in English for the fact that I find it hard to think things in English and I also g...

My Studies Programme

Journalism at the University of Chile is one of the races with the most deficiencies within the same university or the same campus. Although, the ICEI is in a quite accessible place, its little ability to gather people is known. This occurs because it is a building in the shape of a department that has no meeting spaces other than the casino or the library. It is almost a crossing. Within the mesh that I had to study there were mirror subjects in which we studied communication theories for three or four years, leaving little room for the practical development of journalism. During my years of studies I would have liked to have more journalism in the field, something to be able to live the reality of Chilean journalists and not stay in the mere theory. Another unfavorable point is the little technological capacity that the university had when I joined, my first camera that I used needed tapes!  However, modernization has reached the ICEI slowly but in the end it arrived. I ...

Summer Vacation

My plans aren’t ambitious at all. I just would like to go to the beach and have a nice time with my family and friends. Considering this is my last vacation till I go deep into the adults life, I want to have fun before those never ending busy days of journalism begins.  Feel the cold water in my feet under a hot sun, eat some food and having some laughs, drink beer and dance till dawn, meet new people in the way, and why not, have a little affair with a local girl in the place. I want to disconnect from the big city life and all that pollution. Maybe even drop the phone for a while, having the experiences that my fathers had when they were young, doing the same things that they did that we, the new generation, are missing because of the irruption of the internet. Messages, notifications, pictures, likes and comments; maybe all that stuff is not that relevant and I will be able to find happiness in things the beach can offer to me.  Also I want to de-stress and leave b...

The best party ever a bizarre adventure

Imagen
At the end of my first year in the university, my generation had an idea to realize a big party in the house from one of my classmates. In all human groups exists differences and problems, in this opportunity that was no exception. However, we could do the party; in this party were gathered different types of people, people who had never shared despite having studied for a year. The location for this party was a little house of Santiago, specifically in La Florida. This house has a pool and two environments. When I arrived to the party my friends were a little drunk, I buy a juice because at that moment I don't drink alcohol. The party went on normally until nightfall and alcohol began to wreak havoc on the behaviour of my classmates. Some danced, others talked until we decided jump to the pool at 3 am; in this crazy moment it broke loose. One of my classmates in a fit of stupidity, He spanked to the landlady and She hit it for his disrespect. This situation caused that t...

My future job

I really want to be an International Journalist; I imagine that could be interesting because I will take a lot of knowledge about the world news and its customs. On the other hand, that job gives me the opportunity to travel all around the world, in turn, meet other places will give me the power to see my nation from another point of view, as well as letting me know how the people from the outside see my country. All of that and more will enrich me and make me aware of what is really happening in the world, and it will make me better person too. For the bless of God, I’m already studying the career that will allow me to work on International Journalism and I’m very grateful for that. But to get the opportunity to have that kind of job, I have to work hard in my university because only the best students will be considered to be part of this.  Hopefully in the future I will be working on a big newspaper or some channel news from Europe or Asia, or maybe I would have the chanc...

My Pet

It was January in 2014 when I heard a cat’s meow on my window, this situation was strange for me because months ago my pussycat died of a terrible kidney disease. When I opened the window I saw a little blond kitten. Today this cat’s name is Rusio, (ok, I know I’m not very creative). Rusio is a very singular and smart cat, regularly I think that cat can understand the situations of the life. The intelligence of my cat comprises different edges. First of all, Rusio is a very independent cat. He use to climb in my shoulders, because is his favorite place. Also he has shown his intelligence opening the doors of the rooms through a jump for push the handle. These conducts are different of other cats that I had. They were meeker. Rusio likes to go out of home but he always come back. Fortunately I live in a passage, therefore, the only danger situation is that he fights with other cats or dogs. But the majority of the cats on my neighbor play with my cat. I think they have a sec...

The God of Plot Twist

Imagen
Hi, bloggers Today I’m going to talk about Gen Urobuchi (The God of Plot Twist). Urobuchi was born December 20, 1972, is a Japanese writer known for his light novels and his participation in a lot of famous animes. Urobuchi works often contain dark and nihilistic themes, tragic plot twists, and heavy usage of gore. I discovered the Urobuchi’s works when I saw Psycho Pass. It is a crime thriller anime the story takes place in a dystopic future, where omnipresent public sensors continuously scan the mental states of the citizen. And then, when someone is identified as a potential criminal, the criminal investigation division of the local police have to pass them to detention. The principal characters are Akane Tsunemori and Shinja Kougami. They have strong confrontation with their ideals because they should not become a criminal to defeat another. Psycho Pass is the most famous history but “Requiem for The Phantom” is a masterpiece of twenty-six episodes. Phantom is a li...

Welcome to Zorritos

Imagen
In January of 2015, I visited Zorritos, a little village in the north of Perú. For two weeks I stayed in a hostal. Zorritos is so small that I was able to know it entirely by walking through the Panamericana road. In those holidays my father won an award in his job. The award included the trip to Perú. He paid the the tickets for me and my family and we all went to the country. Zorritos is a location lost in time, because the houses were of humble construction, but it had its mystique. Here I toured the mangroves of the Cerros de Amotape National Park and met the american crocodrile. However, the most important thing is the temperature of the sea, because in the chilean coast we are used to the cold water, but in Zorritos the warmer water is something wonderful. Zorritos is located two hours away from the best known tourist site in Peru, Mancora, but unlike this place known for the big parties at the edge of the beach, Zorritos is a place to rest and meet a hidden si...

Lost in Japan

Imagen
What I should like (above all else and this gives me many sleepless nights), is visit Japan, specifically Tokyo; because I love the oriental culture. Also is a very interesting country that combines the ancient tradition with the modernization. Tokyo is the capital of Japan, the population of the metropolitan area is around thirty millions, but someday in the past was a small fishing village named Edo. In Japan, the festivals are called "matsuri", they could be big (the biggest one lasts a entire week)  but also there are very little ones that are celebrated in local temples.  In Tokyo exists the Sannō at Hie Shrine, the Sanja at Asakusa Shrine, and the biennial Kanda Matsuri.  The last features a parade with elaborately decorated floats and thousands of people. Annually on the last Saturday of July, there's an enormous fireworks display over the Sumida River who attracts over a million viewers. I would really love to live in this city, however, I ha...
